The Bistrot

The Bistrot by Lou Calen welcomes you every day inside large air-conditioned glass veranda, opening onto a beautiful shaded terrace. On the menu, the chef promises tasty cuisine, combining the very best of French, Italian and Thai flavours. And when weather permits , local meats and fresh fish are flame-grilled in the outside kitchen. Guests can savour each mouthful in a friendly, elegant atmosphere, especially during Sunday brunch.

Under the watchful eye of chef Benoit Witz, the chef crafts a short menu that showcases fresh produce selected from local producers. Driven by his love for French, Italian and Thai cuisine, he refreshed his recipes every week: pumpkin tagine, linguine with calamari and Pecorino, Thai soup… or his tasty reinterpretations of the great classics of bistro-gastronomy.

The art of flame-grilled cooking

During spring and summer, local meats and fresh fish and given a richer flavour thanks to flame-grilled cooking in our outdoor kitchen, with a true demonstration of know-how and precision cooking. Each flame, each ember, contributes to the complex craft of tastes and textures, revealing the quintessence of meat, fish and vegetables. To enhance these smoky and caramelised flavours, the chef has cooked up a unique barbecue sauce, inspired by the history of Lou Calen estate: a subtle blend of pastis, maple syrup and craft beer, enhanced of course with a few secret ingredients!

Sunday brunch

Please join us every Sunday for a brunch from 12pm to 3pm. Our passionate chefs commit to delivering a high diversity or delicious meals: salt-crusted sea bream, flame-cooked local meats, wheel of truffle risotto… And lot of suggestions by a generous all-you-can eat local buffet. This weekly rendez-vous is unmissable!

Oursinade

‘Oursinade’ is one of the most important culinary traditions of Provence. At the start of each year, sea urchins cluster around the Côte Bleue, the Rivera sea coast which stretches from Marseille to Martigues. The Bistrot is joining the celebration by shining their culinary spotlight on the sea urchin for a buffet.

Valentine's Day

Chef Witz and his team bring their passion for local culinary delights by crafting refined and spectacular dishes that will seduce with every bite.
