Welcome to Classic en Provence – three days of classical music at Lou Calen. The Fanny Mendelssohn Artists have prepared an innovative programme to fit the unique atmosphere of the hotel surrounded by nature and steeped in history. Be it during a musical brunch at the new Bistrot of Lou Calen, a concert in the conservatrory or a under the olive trees – the five musicians will enchant you with their talent and musical ability: Marcell Szabó on piano, Matthias Well on violin, Tamas Palfalvi on trumpet, Dominik Wagner on double bass and Vera Karner on clarinet.
The Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis :
Since 2015, the Fanny Mendelssohn Förderpreis annually awards young classical musicians for their innovative concepts. Financing a debut album entirely according to the award winner‘s ideas is only part of the support provided by the eponymous sponsorship association. The young musicians are supported in the long term with performance opportunities where they can also pursue their solo ambitions, such as at the annual “Festival of the Award Winners“ at the famous Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
This year the award winners decided to expand the concept of joint performances with an alternating cast and have joined forces with selected FMFP finalists under the name “Fanny Mendelssohn Artists“. Together they form a new ensemble of top-class classical soloists that is ready to delight audiences with creative programs and unlimited possibilities for ever new ensemble constellations.
