Workshop programme :
○ Learning the method, colouring, exploration of the pulpy material, and making all preparations to craft your object;
○ Moulding a curved shape around 30cm in diameter using your hands and also proper tools;
○ Crafting the base of the object then decoration according to your personal preference (wall-mounted or free-standing).
About the artist :
A local artist and craftswoman, Solange’s obsession with the Upcycling movement has taken her on a journey into a unique decorative universe in her crafts of lampshades, pots and vases. Her approach to the craft has evolved over time thanks to her continued practice of the paper pulp method and her expert creation of moulded and modelled objects. While certain pieces are intended to be useful household objects – such as lighting fixtures, and so on – most of her pieces of art use particular craftsmanship and bring a certain special something to a room. Always unique, handmade, and eco-responsible, Solange’s creations invite you to a small piece of art that comes from the exclusive Mediterranean style of living. In January 2022, Solange was selected to participate in the “Objet d’une rencontre” (An object from a special moment) project and exhibited her work at the Marseille History Museum.
